Every program Chaitanyam runs, in one place — from our flagship Eye Care Institute to community health, training and wellness initiatives.
This state-of-the-art hospital, built in Kale village, Kolhapur, caters to the vision-related challenges of people who work on a daily wage and have affordability issues for any surgery or medical treatment. The service is completely complimentary, yet the treatment is world-class — quality instruments, high-quality doctors, and systematic patient engagement and administration.
Sweekriti Socio-care has launched its first center under the Chaitanyam Eye Care Institute in the Panhala block of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, offering free cataract services to over 250 villages — supported by our School Eye Screening outreach program, with a mobile van already mobilized and operational in the villages.
This center serves as a pilot project, in parallel developing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) template to guide the development and operation of future centers across Maharashtra. We believe there is a need for 10–12 such centers to address the broader need for cataract treatment within the state.
"Paropakarartham Idam Sariram" (परोपकारार्थं इदं शरीरं) — this body exists for the welfare of others.
Your Vision is Our Mission.
Every rupee donated to the Eye Care Institute goes directly toward surgeries, consumables and medicine for patients who cannot otherwise afford treatment.
Beyond Eye Care, Chaitanyam runs five ongoing programs across Maharashtra.
